Introduction
praXis is the arts and health network for the West Midlands region, bringing people together who are involved in arts and health to reflect on their work and share good practice.
If you are an artist, arts development worker, community worker, or a health and social care worker wanting to develop arts work, then this network is for you!
praXis is all about bringing the arts and health sectors together to share experiences of developing Participatory Arts – that is, work where people individually or collectively take part in and contribute to an activity or event.
Our Aims
In November 2009 a major Grants for the Arts award was received from Arts Council England West Midlands, to support the development of praXis over the next two years. Read about our aims here.
What does praXis do?
There are two main strands of activity: ‘Generating Practice’ and ‘Examining and Supporting Practice’.
Get involved
The main aim of praXis is to increase the number of partners involved, so creating a more sustainable arts and health ‘infrastructure’ throughout the West Midlands region which can respond to a wide range of challenging health agendas.
The praXis network is growing every day and at the last count had over 400 members, so join praXis now and help to continue that success!
